Those of you who regularly check my scraps (which would be nobody) will recognise this. For everyone else, Surprise! Or something.
This would be Null flinging crystals which - believe it or not - in my Mootiverse (still going folks) are an extremely effective weapon, what with being razor sharp, tending to explode, and containing a noseful of poisonous Ether. He's a bad guy, so obviously this means he gets the most interesting means of offing people. And there are a few of them. --- Tried going for the outlineless method again, an honest to god pose which I'm not exactly sure if I pulled off, effects out the ass, and a laughable attempt at perspective. Yes, thats what it is. Extensive use of the Polylasso, which is rapidly becoming my best friend, lots and lots of filter effects which I hope don't look too dump and my obligatory text effects for these "profile" images of sorts. Fun fact: Saving the .psd at the end of this almost melted my computer into a pool of molten slag. Fun fact 2: Saving the ULTRA HIRES version melted my computer into a pool of molten slag. More seriously though it's good work; Null stands out a lot from the dark, purplish paint-thinner crystals.

I think Null stands out too much- you might have shaded him darker or something so he doesn't look like a lighthouse in a storm. Just my opinion, though.

Legs aren't a requirement for these guys, considering they evolved past the need for legs, instead floating a few feet above the ground. Or something. I'm still working out the physics behind it

The background was pretty much just slapping down custom brushes (where from I can't remember) playing with scatter/size settings.
Again the muss of stuff inside those crystals was more random brushings, probably with multiply or something set, I dunno. Basically it entailed a lot of mouse thrashing
